Summary
A young boy, Alexander is having a bad day. It starts out with
him waking up with gum in his hair and getting his sweater wet,
to his best friend saying he's only his third best friend and his
mother forgetting to pack dessert in his lunch, to then going to
the dentist to only find out he has a cavity and then to the shoe
store to find that they don't have the shoes he wants. At dinner
there are lima beans and there's kissing on T.V. and then when he
goes to bed the cats want to sleep with his brother and not him.
Alexander continues to say he is going to move to Australia to escape
it all but he realizes that bad days happen even in Australia.

Kara is the Gothic root of the word "care."
It means to reach out, to care, to lament, to grieve with.
