Support at End-of-Life
Kara offers individual counseling and group support for those who are anticipating their own death or the death of another. There are no fees for these peer support services. Donations are gratefully accepted.
Receiving a terminal diagnosis can be the most difficult challenge we ever experience. In addition to the emotional and spiritual issues that often arise, there are questions and arrangements to be addressed that can feel overwhelming. Support from a Kara counselor who is familiar with end-of-life issues, can help those anticipating their own death to ensure their needs are met.
If a client is physically unable to travel to Kara's office, a counselor can come to the client's location, whether a residence or care facility.
Grief begins the moment we learn that our loved one is terminally ill, and grows as the illness progresses. Questions about what to expect, what to say, how to be supportive and how to care for oneself often arise. Support from a Kara counselor who has been in a similar situation and offers a listening ear can ease the journey leading up to and following a death.
